Week 8: Postcards design

Another thing I wanted to do this last week of project was to change the design of my postcards (the ones that will be sent to the homeless persons and viceversa). The previous tests I made weren't really successful, as they were just white postcards with the names of the homeless people at the front and the messages written at the back of them. Having made a considerable change in my website visual tone of voice, using color a lot more, and having a more celebratory tone of voice, I wanted to translate that into my new postcards design.

1: I decided to have a single color for each postcard, as each homeless person has its own color associated in the website.

2: I wanted to "stay true" to postcards' design, to make mines feel as similar to postcards as possible. I noticed that lots of postcards have a border on the outline (front part of postcards) that I decided to add to mines, giving that border the colour of each homeless person.

3: Another characteristic thing about postcards is how the back part is separated into two different parts by a line: a side to write a message and a side to write the address and the addressee. I also kept that in my postcards.

4: Finally, I wasn't really sure of how to design the front of the postcards, as those normally have a picture at the front, but I wanted mines to be as simple as possible, focusing more on just showing the homeless person name at the front, and, maybe, bits of information for the website visitor to be attracted by. I came up with the idea of using stamps signs (not really sure how you call it), where we could see the homeless person name, their age and the place where they live/sleep, just as an insight into the homeless person's story. I used the same color as for the outline, trying to make it feel as cohesive as possible.
